Installed in 2007, this artificial reef off Golden Beach features two pallet reef balls and eight bay reef balls, strategically placed in 42 feet of water with approximately 4 feet of vertical relief. As part of the Golden Beach Memorial Reef initiative, the site was designed to promote ocean conservation, enhance fish habitats, and support marine biodiversity. The reef structure attracts a variety of popular saltwater species, making it a productive fishing spot for local anglers. Common species around the reef may include yellowtail snapper, grunts, Spanish mackerel, and other reef-dwelling fish. Over time, the reef balls have become encrusted with marine life, transforming the area into a thriving underwater ecosystem that contributes to the health and sustainability of South Florida’s coastal waters.
