Carysfort Trench Existing Management Area Mooring Buoy 2 is located along the deeper waters off Key Largo, Florida, near the historic Carysfort Reef. This section of the trench features steep underwater ledges and sandy bottoms that create ideal conditions for larger pelagic species and reef fish. Protected by a managed mooring system, the area allows safe boat access while helping to preserve the fragile marine environment. Common catches around this spot include Mutton Snapper, Grouper, Amberjack, Barracuda, and the occasional Wahoo cruising the deeper drop-offs.
